I want to PLEAD with Marvel Comics to PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE start offering each of Skottie Young’s variant covers as limited edition prints.  His work stands out as some of the best out there and I am SURE fans would buy them! Fans of BLURPPY will know that we absolutely LOVE Skottie Young’s work, (click HERE to see what we mean).  Well Marvel has just announced something that has made us EXTREMELY happy.  Coming this July they are launching “Rocket Raccoon“, a whole new ongoing series from the Eisner Award winning artist where Skottie will be the writer as WELL as the artist.  Here is the official press release:

As defenders of the cosmos go, Rocket Raccoon has faced his fair share of galactic battles. He’s been a hero to the weak, a champion of the good, a protector to the innocent, and a heartthrob to many intergalactic species across the cosmos. But is he ready to be a raccoon on the run?!

Rocket’s high-flying life of adventure and heroism may soon be a thing of the past when he becomes framed for something he didn’t do! And the authorities aren’t the only ones hot on his TAIL! (Yeah, we went there.)

“I figure that a guy like Rocket, with his attitude, has swindled his way over many planets and charmed many ladies,” says writer/artist Skottie Young. “He’s racked up a malitia of ex-girlfriends I’m dubbing the Exterminators. They’re all fed up and they’ve decided it’s time they dish out some payback on his furry little tail.”

With his pal Groot at his side, Rocket will have to blast his way out of trouble (and blast his way into some) if he wants to clear his name. Along the way he’ll tussle with some of the fiercest creatures in the known galaxy! But they’re about to bite off more than they can chew if they think they can go toe-to-paw against the shortest Guardian with the biggest gun!

Here is what Skottie said in a recent interview with MTV NEWS:  “Even though it was just a sliver of Rocket [in the trailer], I couldn’t wait to work on this guy even more,” Young said. “I think it’s going to have a connection to that nostalgic feeling for ‘Looney Tunes,’ that old animated flavor where everything wasn’t squeaky clean, you know? Daffy Duck would get his bill blasted off with double barrel shotguns… That’s what I grew up watching, and being able to play around with that in this hyper-superhero intergalactic universe will be a lot of fun.”

With “Guardians of the Galaxy” hitting theaters in August, this is the PERFECT lead in and you couldn’t ask for a better artist to do it.  Huge congrats to Skottie, we can’t wait to read this one! SO COME ON….CELEBRATE WITH ROCKET AND BLURPPY!

I’ve always loved the Hulk for his massive size, uncontrollable rage, incalculable strength and the fact that he is green only makes him more awesome.  Today Marvel gives us a preview of Hulk #1 along with some variant covers, (including one by Skottie Young!).  Here is the official press release:

“WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADE! Say it isn’t so!” The clock is ticking and Deadpool doesn’t have much time left.  Here is what Marvel had to say about the demise of Wade Wilson.

That’s right! Add up all the Deadpool series (creatively), and April’s DEADPOOL #45 marks Wade Wilson’s landmark 250^th issue! How is he celebrating? He’s dying! The end of the line comes for all, even one such as Deadpool, but he’s not gone yet! Say your condolences with this new look at the colossal-sized series finale!
